Master and take home
your first Gamification project

using this highly regarded industry concept!

Gamification is a buzzword in the L&D world. But buzzwords do not solve business problems. Come to a hands-on, 1.5 day workshop to learn about the art of and science of engagement and motivation to take home real answers.

Topics covered:

  • What’s the difference between Gamification and Game-based learning?
  • How do I start gamifying courses?
  • Is PBL (points, badges and leaderboard) going to solve my problems?
  • How do I increase learner engagement when people don’t like to play?

What’s In It for Me? (WIIFM)

You’ll develop these skills
to take back to the workplace:

Day 1 – Game Thinking for L&D Framework:

  • Analyze what makes games engaging: the MDA framework.
  • Develop your strategy for gamification and game design.
  •  Design and build a rapid prototype!

Day 2 – Playtest your prototype!

  • Playtest your prototype!
  • Takeaway: Five common mistakes when implementing game thinking.

Zsolt is a frequent speaker and active participant at conferences and workshops featuring Game Thinking for L&D:

  • G.A.M.E. (Gameful Approaches of Motivation and Engagement) – Kevin Werbach’s workshop at the Wharton School of University of Pennsylvania (November, 2015)
  • ATD TechKnowledge conference, Las Vegas, NV (January, 2016)
  • ATD Philadelphia Regional Conference, Philadelphia, PA (May, 2016)
  • Next up: DevLearn, Las Vegas, NV (November, 2016)

NOTE:  No previous game or gamification design experience required. Bring laptop for hands-on prototyping and take home your project. We will use Articulate Storyline 2. The software and intermediate knowledge is required for hands-on prototyping in this session; using the free trial is sufficient. Those without a laptop or Storyline knowledge can pair up with others and learn. Skills demonstrated are transferable to other tools and programs.
